Welcome to 2011-2012 Term
Greetings from our new President
Dear Colleagues:

The 2011-2012 Season of Phoenix Obstetrics and Gynecologic Society is upon us. Now in its 53rd year, I have the privilege and honor of requesting your participation in this year’s membership.

We will have our meetings in Central Phoenix to encourage members from all corners of the valley to attend. The venue will be Morton’s located at 2501 East Camelback Road, Phoenix.

This year’s program is off to an excellent start. Our program is almost completely scheduled; we plan to use our local talent as either speakers or discussants at each meeting. Great things are occurring in the Valley of the Sun and we will take advantage of the opportunities to share with our members the new research and programs that is occurring locally.

We are planning to initiate a Clinical Review in Obstetrics and Gynecology Program during the spring. The Society and Arizona section ACOG have been partners in past years and will collaborate with the ObGyn teaching institutions in Arizona to bring this review program to our members. The Clinical Review in Obstetrics and Gynecology will be directed to practicing ObGyn´s preparing for their recertification exams, other specialty providers interested in clinical ObGyn and individuals preparing for written and oral boards.

We look forward to great fellowship and learning opportunities this year and hope you and your colleagues will join or continue your membership. Our membership dues this year are increasing due to rising cost in administration and decreasing vendor support.

Thank you and I hope to see you in September.

Sincerely,

Maria Manriquez, M.D. FACOG
President
Phoenix Obstetrical and Gynecologic Society
